Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Cranbrook Public Library are committed to good fellowship, fun and service.  The results of our efforts fund extra book and other collection purchases, targeted programs and special projects designed to make Cranbrook and the library better, more dynamic partners.

Here is an update on the Friends and Covid-19

Sadly, Covid-19 is still with us. The library is thankfully open again and we are allowed to have the Bookshelf back. It is at the entrance of the library, covering the inside book-drop. Since we still can not do any book sales, here you can find reads of all categories. Our volunteers are stocking the shelf regularly and with changing topics. So, please check this regularly.

The board decided to extended the membership year to the end of August 2021, but if you want to help the library, donations are welcome and any amount at and above $ 20.00 will get a receipt. There is a box for your donations at the circulation desk. Please state your name and contact clearly on the envelopes provided to receive your tax receipt.

Thanks you for your continued support of our Library, and most of all, stay healthy, stay safe, and catch up on your reading.

If you have any questions, please contact me at or 250-426-4707.

Meanwhile, please stay healthy and catch up on your reading.

And Blastoff!

The Friends of the Library sold Chris Hadfield’s books at his appearance in Cranbrook on October 13th. Our thanks goes to CBT for this wonderful opportunity to raise over $4.700.00 for our Library. (pictured is Michele Wilson, Col. Chris Hadfield, Ursula Boy and Bernice Smith)

Book Sale Shelf

Can’t wait for the next book sale?  Check out the Friends Ongoing Book Sale shelf beside the circulation desk in the Library.  It is continuously restocked with some of the best books donated throughout the year – from current releases, to old favourites, to hobbies and crafts.  At only $2 a book, it’s the perfect place to pick something up to read on vacation or at home.

Donations Needed!

At this point we can not accept book donations as our storage is at capacity, please check here to find out when we can accept donations again.
