After School and Weekend Programs
For groups age 9 – 12, we review books featured by the Red Cedar Awards before building small crafting projects relevant to themes in the book. Snacks and fun are guaranteed. Program runs from September until May each year.
Lego @ the Library
From September until May each year, children 6 to 12 can enjoy playing with Lego every fourth Tuesday of the month.
The Library hosts a movie matinee featuring a new release, often based on a book, throughout the year. Come to watch and discuss. Registration is required because we need to know how much popcorn to make. Check the event calendar or Facebook page to see what’s coming next.
The BC Summer Reading Club is a free literacy program designed to engage school-aged children, ages 5-14, with libraries and reading, throughout the summer. We strive to do so in a way that is fun, educational, inclusive and community-oriented.
The program is designed to allow libraries from every part of the Province to plan and deliver the program in the way that best meets the distinctive needs of their communities. All children are invited to join the BC SRC by visiting their local library.
The BC SRC welcomes the participation of all children and their families, and seeks to provide an accessible and fully inclusive program.
