In ‘The Pursuit of Endurance,’ Jennifer Pharr Davis describes how she broke the world record for hiking the Appalachian Trail, which she did in 46 days, 11 hours, and 20 minutes. Davis will also be visiting the Library on July 28^th.

 

‘Finding Dorothy’ is the fictionalized story of how L. Frank Baum’s widow tried to keep her husband’s vision true during MGM’s filming of ‘The Wizard of Oz’ in 1939.

 

StoryTime and Baby LapTime are both on hiatus until September. Our Summer Reading Club is right around the corner. Keep checking this column for details, or contact us at the Library.

 

The Sizzling Summer Book Sale

The Friends of the Library will hold this book sale in the Manual Training School, adjacent to the Library.   Friday, June 7^th is for Members only, 5 pm to 7 pm. Saturday, June 8^th– Everyone is Welcome from 9 am to 4 pm. Come and find your summer reading. There are loads of book bundles and beach reads as well as a host of other topics for all ages. Your donations of books, CDs, & DVDs are welcome at the circulation desk in the Library.  Call Marilyn 250-489-6254 for info.
