At the Library for December 19th, 2017

Updated 2017/12/18

Jim Cameron follows up his widely popular ‘Cranbrook Then and Now’ with a new second volume. As before, Cameron’s ability to link our past with the present is ingenious and his writing remains absorbing as always.

The wind still blows through the willows with Kij Johnson’s ‘The Riverbank’—a direct sequel to Kenneth Grahame’s beloved ‘The Wind in the Willows.’ Along with Toad, Badger, and Mole, Johnson has added female animals as well.

Preschool Story Time is this Wednesday at 11:00 am, 1:15 pm, & 6:30 pm, and Toddler Story Time is 10:00 and 11:00 am. Both will be all about “Christmas”.  Baby Laptime Thursday at 10 am.

Please note there is always a Wednesday evening Story Time at 6:30 pm for ages 3 to 9 and their caregivers. Perfect way to unwind.

Please note the Library will be closed this Saturday, December 23rd through till Monday, December 26th, and again the Library will be closed at 3pm on Sunday, December 31st, and will reopen on Monday, January 2nd for regular hours. We hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season.

FOOD FOR FINES: For the entire month of December, the Library will be accepting donations of non-perishable food as payment for overdue fines. One item will be worth one dollar of fines. Any canned or boxed non-perishable food items will be accepted. All donations will be delivered to the food bank throughout the holiday season. This is a great way to get rid of those pesky overdue fines while helping others in need.
