At the Library for August 29th, 2017

Updated 2017/08/28

Three firefighters recall their experiences fighting one of the largest disasters in Canadian in history in ‘Into the Fire: The Fight to Save Fort McMurray.’

Rina Singh explains to younger readers the biggest and best of Indian festivals in her brightly illustrated book ‘Diwali.’

The Summer Reading Club is over, with the closing ceremonies being held this week. We had a record 602 kids registered this year, with 250 reading logs completed. This is outstanding, and everyone should be extremely proud of themselves. Our teen reading club had 45 members this year, another large number for Cranbrook. Thanks to everyone who participated this year.

Storytime will be resuming in the fall.

Our online catalogue is currently getting an upgrade. This may cause a few hiccups with it, but they are only temporary. While it should be working (ha ha) please contact us if you are experiencing any trouble.  Please note the Library will be closed on Thursday, September 14th, from 9 am to 4 pm, to complete this much needed upgrade.

The Library will also be closed Monday, September 4th for Labour Day.
