In the spring of 2014, Eric Larsen and Ryan Waters set out to traverse nearly 500 miles across the melting Arctic Ocean, unsupported, from Northern Ellesmere Island to the geographic North Pole. ‘On Thin Ice’ is the tale of their journey, and how much of the frozen sea ice is rapidly disappearing.

 

Minecraft is a videogame that should not be a hit. It has clunky graphics that look like they are from the early 80s, and it is basically a game where one builds and move blocks around. Yet it is the second bestselling videogame of all time, and appeals to all ages. Martin O’Hanlon’s ‘Adventures in Minecraft’ helps readers add on to their existing games through a series of programming projects.

 

Preschool Story Time and Baby Laptime is on hiatus until January 11^th, 2017.

New at the Library is a 2000-piece jigsaw puzzle of Bavaria’s Neuschwanstein Castle. It is located in our reading lounge, so any and all puzzle enthusiasts are encouraged to come work on it.
