At the Library for September 27th, 2016

Updated 2016/09/26

Much like Steve Jobs (Apple), Noah Glass (Twitter), George Zimmer (Men’s Warehouse), and David Neelman (Jet Blue), Brownie Wise was fired from the company she had built. In ‘Life of the Party,’ Bob Kealing charts the meteoric rise of Brownie and her company Tupperware, until she was not only let go, but any reference to her was erased from the Tupperware’s history.

La Guerre des Toques is an animated remake of one of CBC’s most famous children’s films—The Dog Who Stopped the War.

Storytime is back! Preschool Story Time is this Wednesday at 11:00 am, 1:15 pm, & 6:30 pm, and Toddler Story Time is 10:00 and 11:00 am. Both will be all about Bubbles!

New this fall is Baby Laptime on Fridays at 1 pm. It will be starting on Friday, Sept 23.
This program is for babies who are not yet walking so a specific age is not really set—best approximation is under 1 year of age. Since we do not have daycare for older siblings we ask that parents who have babies and children who are walking come to the toddler storytime instead of the baby laptime.
The much anticipated Annual Fall Book Sale of the Friends of the Cranbrook Public Library and the Rotary Club Sunrise will be held at the Ktunaxa Gym for five days, Sept 28th to Oct. 2nd. The first day (Wednesday, Sept. 28th) is for members only and a $10 membership to the Friends can be purchased at the door. Members also receive a 10% discount at this sale, every day except Sunday. Please show your membership card to the cashier.

Hours have been reduced due to lower volunteer numbers. Doors open daily at noon and close at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Saturday hours are 10:00 am to 3:00pm.
The last day of the sale, Sunday Oct. 2th is the very popular BAG SALE. Bring in your Friends/Library bag and fill it for $5 or pay $10, receive your Friends/Library bag and fill it up. No other book bags may be used for this sale. Sunday times are 9:30 am to 11:30 am. There are great reads at great prices!
